Real Tahoe Wedding: Paige & Chris

How did the two of you meet? We met at a dive bar in Washington, D.C….randomly….our two groups of friends got denied from going to the same club we had planned on going to that night because of wearing flip flops…so hence we ended up next door where Chris saw me sitting at the bar and asked for my phone number….a few weeks later–we went out on our ‘first date’….the rest is history 🙂

Describe the proposal. Amazing! Chris told me we were going on a surprise weekend trip…next thing I knew we were at the Sacramento county airport—Chris (is an Air Force KC-10 pilot) was FINALLY taking me flying! I had only been begging him to take me flying since we met! He took me up flying just the two of us and proposed over Napa at sunset….he’s the best!

Wine tasting is one of our favorite things to do together and our true hobby since moving to California in 2008. We then went to one of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento for dinner (Moxie)…then to Amador County for the weekend for what else–wine tasting! One of our favorite places…..a perfect romantic weekend!

Describe your wedding flowers. Absolutely perfect! my florist was the best-not only for the flowers but for her fun personality and for being so creative….i loved my bouquet and the table centerpieces were so creative, beautiful and unique.

Top 3 moments:

1) Chris seeing me as I walked down the aisle with both of my parents, very emotional for both of us!

2) our ‘first look’ when Chris first saw me before the ceremony–my father walking me to meet Chris….and then with Chris waiting on the end of the dock overlooking South Lake Tahoe at Lakeland Village seeing me for the first time-we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! We were so grateful!!

3) Another special moment–my father showing me the ‘infamous’ card trick minutes before walking down the aisle–it’s a family tradition and the deal is that my father promised to share the trick but only when we got married–I wish I could say I remembered the actual trick–I was just a little nervous!

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: so many! one of our favorite moments was our beach pictures–especially the sunset pictures. Jackie was so easy and fun to work with…what a talented photographer!!

“We did a winery theme with each of the tables being labeled as one of our favorite wineries in the area…did we mention we love wine tasting?” 🙂

What was the design inspiration for your wedding invitation? We loved our invitations….creative, fun, and not stuffy—incorporating our colors (black, silver, hot pink)…not your typical standard wedding invitation by any means!! We kept the theme/design going for our ceremony programs and table cards as well….

“Our wedding cake was beautiful!! We had 3 layers-each a different flavor…best wedding cake I have ever tasted by far! Our cake was decorated with fresh hot pink flowers–perfect!
