Describe the proposal.
Approximately two weeks before our long anticipated trip to Europe, I lost the promise ring that Johnny gave me years ago. We were having dinner at a restaurant one day and I suddenly realized that the promise ring that I’ve been wearing for the past 6 years was missing…needless to say, I was devastated!
Couple of days into our Europe tour, we arrived at the Isle of Capri, which is a small island at the southern tip of Italy. While walking on a private beach, Johnny suggested that we should take a picture. He set the camera on self timer and placed it on the floor in front of me. He then came over and kneeled down. My initial reaction was that he wanted to take the picture on the ground, so automatically I was going to kneel with him… until I realized he was on one knee, holding up my lost promise ring!
Our most memorable moment was definitely the reveal. Our photography suggested doing a “First Look” since we wanted to take family photos prior to the ceremony, but also wanted that special moment of seeing each other for the first time.
I will always remember the look on his face when he turned around and saw me walking down the stairs in my wedding gown.
The bouquet consisted of flowers of our wedding color and had a garden look that matched the vineyard setting of the venue.
I really wanted peonies, but since they were not in season, my florist suggested using garden roses instead, which turned out beautifully.
I went to many different wedding gown stores ranging from small boutiques to large warehouses. The dress I finally bought was actually the second dress that I tried on!
I fell in love with the simple mermaid cut, which paired perfectly with the cathedral veil that I wore during the ceremony and the birdcage veil during cocktail hour for a vintage look.
We wanted something simple yet elegant for the wedding cake, therefore went with an all white fondant cake with white sugar flowers. Flavors were tiramisu, strawberry ganache and raspberry chocolate.
Our favorite design element was the candy buffet. Instead of wedding favors, we filled apothecary jars with candies of our wedding colors and placed monogram stickers on the candy bags.
The display added a lot of color to the reception room and looked great in pictures. It was an instant hit with the kids and the adults.

An absolutely gorgeous shoot. They are a lovely couple, and you captured some really beautiful moments. I love the shot of the pretty little girl with the wings. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing Sylvia & Johnny’s wedding! It was an honor to be their photographer.
