I feel pretty lucky. Dan was the first person I met through online dating! He proposed to me at a lovely bed and breakfast inn in Savannah, GA en route to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with family.
We were officially married a few months back at the courthouse, but this day was special and really felt like the real wedding. We enjoyed every minute. Being surrounded by family and close friends was so wonderful.
Everything was tasteful, simple, and beautiful, from the flowers to the table décor and food. We put a lot of the design in the hands of our vendors and they all did a great job.
Our photographer also did a excellent job of capturing these amazing memories in gorgeous photos—we couldn’t have been happier.
Our florist is a botanist and included unusual flowers and greenery in her arrangements. I loved the natural effect, it was so much more interesting and original than the ivory rose bouquet I had originally had in mind.
Since I was five months pregnant at our wedding, I had a limited selection of dresses to choose from. I originally was going to go with a simple heavy jersey knit dress I found online. It still looked “bridal” since it was ivory and drapery, but I decided to go try on dresses at a store and ended up getting a more traditional wedding dress.
The empire waistline accommodated my belly without screaming “maternity” and I loved the lace and beaded detail.
We went with a chocolate cake and it was delicious! It was decorated simply, with delicious ivory frosting as well as flowers and greenery from our florist.
Having a small wedding was absolutely wonderful! We were able to relax and enjoy the day. Most of our guests traveled in from out-of-state or abroad and we were able to talk to everyone and have a good time.
We were also able to enjoy the food, which not every bride and groom get to do!
