Before you begin the process of looking for a wedding planner, you and your fiancé should sit down and create a plan. Decide exactly what it is that you want for your wedding: when and where you would like to have it, the theme (if any), the size of the affair, and any rituals that you would like to incorporate. - How do you go about helping brides and grooms choose their venue? (assuming that you don’t already have a venue selected)
- What type of experience do you have? How many and what types of weddings have you planned?
- What do you believe is the most challenging part of being a wedding planner?
- When you and your bride and groom have a difference of opinion, how do you settle it?
- Do you anticipate that you will be working with several other couples at the same time you will be working with us? If so, how will you handle successfully working with each couple?
- How do you work with vendors and coordinate schedules?
These questions are a great start to finding the perfect wedding planner for your big day. Because each bride has a different vision, it’s important to find someone that understands exactly what you want and is willing to work with you to make it happen.
The last thing you want is a planner who is constantly pushing their opinion on you – it’s your day, after all. A wedding planner should be there to assist and support you in whatever you need.
