With 2013 coming to a close it’s time to start making goals for the new year. One goal sure to be on any bride-to-be’s list is getting fit for the wedding! One of my goals for 2014 is to start saying “getting fit” rather than “losing weight”. This year should be all about getting healthy and when you get healthy you naturally lose weight!
This week I wanted to share a few great recipes and workouts to get you fit and healthy for your upcoming wedding. First up is a smoothie recipe that gets Blake Lively going each morning. I’m a huge juicer and I know first hand the combination of pineapple and apple will off-set the taste of the beet if you are not a big fan.

Blake’s Intoxicating Detoxification

Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
- 1 cup kale
- 2 leaves Swiss chard
- ½ cup parsley
- ½ small beet
- ½ cup pineapple
- 2 medium green apples (red may also be used for extra sweetness)
- 1 sprig fresh mint
- ½ medium lemon, peeled
Directions
Add ingredients in above order to juicer. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
