I get all excited and giddy when talking about summer wedding ideas, and that time has come around again. Summer in all its beauty is a perfect time to tie the knot and the most popular time of the year for weddings, summer allows the outdoor wedding option meaning there are lots of lots of exciting summery details you can add outdoors and if all else fails bring the outdoors in and still create the summer wedding of your dreams.
I have come up with pretty summer inspired wedding ideas with lots of color and vibrant influences that make the most of the season’s heat and sunshine.
Color Burst
Choosing to add pops of color to your wedding will ensure a fun filled element to your day, whether they are statement shoes or massive balloons in all colors that will make for an awesome prop in all your photographs, not to mention how fabulous having multi-colored bridesmaids is for your bridal party. Bright, flamboyant colors make for a very happy wedding.
Cocktails & Gelato Hour…yum
Nothing is more satisfying than a cold alcohol cocktail (alcohol free for the kids) with lots of ice to stimulate the taste buds and get everyone is the mood for dancing ahead. Sitting in the sun with tasty gelato just to top of the summery flavors is a perfect and quirky idea for a summer garden party. The kids will love it.
Citrus Centerpieces
Instead of the ever popular flower decoration centerpieces, which are still gorgeous why not get together the most vibrant citrus fruits available and create a piece of art for each of your wedding tables, this idea is very on trend this year whether they are jammed into old jam jars or beautifully arranged in large statement vases you will not be disappointed with the fresh effect.
Fan of Love
Sharing your wedding ceremony with your nearest and dearest outside in the sunshine is lovely but its good to be prepared for the searing heat of the sun when you’re expecting your guests to stand or sit for quite a while. Why not make fans available, and have some fun while you’re at it.
You can find fans in all shapes and sizes, in colors that will suit your theme and even add something quirky like ‘Fan of Love’ ..cute right? Obviously save one for yourselves, you will need them when you are basking in the sun on your honeymoon.
Light it Up!
So the sun has gone down but it’s still warm outside, there is a good chance your wedding venue has some sort of lighting so your guests can continue the fun outside but adding your own pretty lighting is way more fun and adds an element of beauty with sparkling lights to create a warm summer night atmosphere.
This idea does not have to be expensive, if you’re on a budget then gathering jars and adding tea lights inside is just as effective, you could even tie them up with string and hand them from branches of trees or anywhere else your fancy.
