When you dream of getting married you probably have a good idea how you are going to look on the day. It is something that us girls imagine for several years before we are even proposed to. The trouble is, by the time we get engaged, we may not look how we imagined we would. What we dreamed of wearing may not flatter our figure, and that haircut we got is not going to match the ideal style we wanted.
Sadly everything changes, and let’s face it, the dress we cut out of the bridal mag fifteen years ago really isn’t quite so trendy nowadays. Thankfully there is a wealth of resources out there to find everything we need for today. Starting with the dress, you can pick some beautiful necklines that hadn’t even been conceived of when you were a young girl. The cuts and designs that are available now are far more intricate than back in the day too. Enjoy researching and searching for that perfect dress.
When it comes to hair, short has been in for a long time. Sadly, once it is cut short, it is nearly impossible to grow it long again. If you are in the short stage but really dream of something long, don’t panic. You can have extensions put in for the big day. You may want to book the appointment for a couple of days before your wedding hair appointment because it takes so long to do. Two long hair appointments in a week may be a pain in the backside when you are busy making last minute preparations, but if you want long, you may have to do it.
Half up hairstyles look great if you are wearing a veil. You can finish it off with some bridal hair accessories. Choose from tiaras, headbands, a hair comb or side piece to add to your bridal hair. If you are adding any flowers, check with the florist how it comes for attachment, so you pick the right accessory to work with it. Add the veil in the end, and you are ready to go.
Although most brides do their own make-up, some girls who don’t wear a lot ordinarily prefer some bridal make-up to be done professionally. The photographs require that we wear a little more than we normally would, but it should never be caked on, and you shouldn’t aim to dramatically change your everyday look. Emphasize eyes with lush false lashes. Adding crystal embedded lashes can make you look a little over-baked, so choose the most subtle ones if you like them. Lippy and blush are essential, and eye shadow should be graduated well to fit your natural eye shape.
When you are dressed and styled, you may want some photographs before you walk down the aisle. This is the moment when you are going to feel most apprehensive. Don’t let your nerves distract you from getting the photography you want. If you have some shots in mind, don’t rush them. Take a couple of deep breaths and be sure you are happy with everyone’s position and that your appearance is what you wanted.
