If you are getting married this summer, you are probably already organized. In fact, I bet you and your bridesmaids have been ready for months! But how is the groom getting on? Men usually don’t share their partners when it comes to a wedding. In fact, they often leave their important things till the very last minute. It can be worth giving your partner a gentle nudge and reminding him that the wedding is just around the corner. And then he might finally get started with planning the following things.
The Suit
You’ve got your dress; he’ll need his suit. And just like you will have visited a bridal shop, he will need to go shopping for his outfit. If you are trying to organize a wedding on a budget, there are a few places that offer value for money. Many couples try to save money by buying their wedding outfits online or in high street stores. However, for the best look, only a sophisticated, bespoke suit from a tailor’s like MAB will do.
The Best Man
Your partner will also need to ask his best man if they are up for the duties and responsibilities of the role. It isn’t an easy job being best man, so make sure your groom asks someone who you can both rely on. The best man needs to look after the wedding bands on the big day. Not only that, though, but he will have to write a speech to give at the reception. This should be funny and witty without being too rude and crude. Some jokes are fine, but he shouldn’t make grandma blush!
His Speech
It isn’t only the best man who has to give a speech. Your partner will be expected to wax lyrical at the reception as well! Granted, this speech isn’t traditionally as important or as long as the best man’s, but he should put some thought and care into his words. After all, it will largely be about how much he loves you, and you will want to make sure you come across well in it! Ask him if you can have a quick read before he makes the speech so you are sure there is nothing embarrassing in it.
Set The Alarm
You will spend the night before your big day apart. And that means you won’t be there for any last minute preparations in the morning. Remind him to set an alarm. Your wedding day would be the worst day ever for him to oversleep! Tell the best man to make sure he has breakfast as well. The wedding ceremony can involve a lot of standing for long periods. Doing this on an empty stomach could end in him fainting! These may seem like little things, but they can make a big difference to the whole day. You don’t want one little issue snowballing to create a huge problem!
Once you know the groom is taking care of his side of the planning, you can relax a bit and get excited for your big day!
