Your wedding is the biggest and most important day of your life. You probably have some pretty high expectation for the day and who can blame you? But could you be heading towards disappointment? Make sure you get a reality check and know what to expect before the big day arrives.
The decorations
Your expectations for the venue decorations will be high. But to prevent any disappointment on the day; you need to work closely with your venue decorators. They need to have a specific vision to work to when executing the decoration for the day. The reality of it is that your will need to have several meetings beforehand. You should also get a written plan for the decorations, which you have read and approved.
In the planning stages provide as many pictures and examples of what you would like your venue to look like. If you are using, specific wedding colours make sure to include actual swatches of the fabrics you are using. You’d; be surprised how people can see colors differently.
Time
One of the things that brides are least prepared for in reality is how-how quick their day flies by. There is some much going on, and you are the centre of attention. There is little time to sit down and take it all in. Brides often have the expectation that they day will romantic but in reality, it can be hard to get any time with your partner at all. Remember that from getting ready, to the evening celebrations; you will be involved in every facet of the day.
To combat, this makes sure that you have some specific times set aside for some couples photography. Provide your guests with some drinks and nibbles, then you and your new husband can disappear for some professional photos. The pictures will provide a lasting memory of your day that flies by so quick. Use a company with a well-respected reputation like merge wedding photographers. Explain to them that you want a bit of time, having photos done with just the two of you.
The food
The bride often has not a lot of effort into selecting the food for the wedding. Therefore she will expect it to be of good quality. But problems can happen in reality, and there is always the chance that something could go wrong. The best thing a bride can do in this situation is to have preassigned her maid of honour to go and talk to whoever is in charge of the catering. This is much better than having to get stressed with a vendor on your wedding day. Remember that your guest will not expect you to be diving into the kitchen to sort out any issues.
The day after
The expectation of the day after the wedding is usually that you will go off on your honeymoon. But the reality is you are likely to be pretty exhausted. So it can be nice to get a bit of chill time in before you set off. If you venue has a spa close by, why not book you and your husband in for the day. Then you can catch up and relax and Mr and Mrs, and you’ll be refreshed when you do jet off for your honeymoon.
