When you picture yourself walking down the aisle, what do you see? Chances are, you envision a picture-perfect face, without any bumps, blemishes, or stray hairs in sight. We all want to look our best on our wedding day, but it takes some work to look the part of the blushing bride. In the weeks leading up to your wedding, there are a couple of things that you can do to ensure that you’ll be looking your best on the big day.
Follow a Fitness Plan
As long as a year before your wedding, you should start working on getting your body into shape. Crash dieting and sudden bouts of exercise the week before the wedding won’t do anything to make you look better, and might even end up wearing you out before the celebration. Follow a healthy diet plan and exercise regularly to get your body lean, toned, and in shape.
Care for Your Skin
There’s only but so much that makeup can do if your skin breaks out before your wedding. Starting up a skincare regimen eight months to a year before your wedding ensures that it will be looking healthy and young for the big day. If you’re concerned about lines and wrinkles, you can always opt for Botox treatments, but be sure to do a test run long before your wedding to ensure that you don’t have any adverse reactions to the procedure. You can also start thinking about getting a monthly glycolic peel and facial treatments one to three months before your wedding.
Remove Unwanted Hair
You can shave off unwanted body hair before your wedding, but this can leave razor burn, ingrown hairs, and unsightly stubble. It’s best to plan on removing hair before the big day by using longer-lasting techniques such as waxing. If you have sensitive skin, you may want to consider hair removal creams as an alternative to salon waxing. You can also remove hair more permanently by scheduling a series of laser hair removal treatments as early as six months before your wedding day.
You may not want to wax or laser off unwanted body hair and facial hair, but even so, you still probably don’t want it to show up in your wedding photos. Instead of removing dark hairs, you can use bleach to lighten hairs and make them less prominent. Bleach hair in advance of your wedding to give your skin time to overcome any redness or irritation.
