From the bride: I was working as a banker at the time, and I had helped Mario’s brother and cousin one day; they told him that there was a perfect girl for him at the bank and he should go in and talk to me. About a week later, Mario came in and started asking me all sorts of questions about opening accounts, etc. We scheduled an appointment for the following Monday for him to come back in and set everything up. After he left I kept thinking about how cute he was, and 15 minutes later he called in and asked if he could take me on a date sometime.
We went out on our first date (after I made him still come in and open accounts with me) and we have been together ever since. The proposal was the most amazing moment, we had randomly decided to take a trip down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I am a planner and had pretty much planned out all of our activities for the week. He told me the only thing he wanted to plan was a dinner one of the nights. When we walked down to the hotel restaurant, they led us down to the beach, which was lined with tiki torches and our own private table right on the sand. They had blocked off that part of the beach just for us.
When dessert came out, it had will you marry me written on a piece of chocolate with the cheesecake, and my amazing custom designed princess cut ring was sitting in the middle of it. He got down on one knee and started by saying ” It took me 31 years to find you, I love you so much. You’re my best friend, you’re the best thing that’s ever been mine. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?” Of course I was bawling the entire time, and it was so amazing!
