Pitfalls to Avoid When Booking Your Wedding Car

Source

Planning and arranging the logistics for your wedding day can be very time-consuming; some couples spend up to 36 days planning their perfect wedding day. That’s a lot of time spent researching, reading and poring over spreadsheets to ensure the day goes without a hitch. Transport can be fairly low down on your list when planning a wedding but choosing the right mode of transport to the venue is crucial to ensure everything goes smoothly, and it can be a great photo opportunity and scene stealer too.

Logistically, there’s quite a lot to consider when deciding on your mode of transport to take you to the wedding. Most couples will generally look for transport which suits their wedding and theme, or they could just choose to use their own trusty car, but there are simple pitfalls you should consider to ensure your wedding transport meets your needs on the big day. Let’s look at a few key points to consider.

Size really does matter

The style of your car is key as it needs to fit in seamlessly with the theme and venue you’ve chosen for your wedding. But it’s worth considering that there’s a reason why some cars are well-suited to weddings and others are not. The major consideration is the size of the car. It’s very easy to underestimate just how much space you need in a car, for a wedding dress and to prevent clothes being creased. If you’re using your own car, that’s a great way to keep the costs down, but may have its disadvantages if the car is small. Likewise, smaller vintage cars are very pretty, but you might not think that if the bride and groom are crumpled and creased when they emerge. In short, if in doubt, go big.

Don’t leave anyone behind

It sounds really simple, but as part of your planning, consider how many people in the wedding party need transport and how many trips will be needed. There’s obviously the bride and groom, but there’s also the bride’s family, the best men, bridesmaids and the groom’s family. Many wedding car or hire companies will lease vehicles for the day, and if you have a chauffeur they usually have no problem with doing multiple trips. Talk to your leasing company and they will be able to help with the planning – a reliable company will have the best idea of how much time is needed for the journey, and how many cars you will need.

Shop around for the best deal

Transport may seem fairly low down on the priority list for deal-hunting, but it’s well worth researching all of the options and finding the best deal. You might have decided to use your wedding as a reason to trade in your current car and to look for a better deal, or you may be using a standard hire car or even a top of the range vintage car. Whatever your choice, you should do some comparative research to ensure you’ve got the best deal. Unfortunately, some less scrupulous companies take advantage of it being a ‘wedding budget’, so don’t forget to shop around. If you’re booking a fleet of cars from a company, then make sure you ask for a discount.

And if you’re not sure, there’s plenty of resources online suggesting other common questions to ask when booking a wedding car. Arming yourself with the right information and questions, means you will get the best deal for your budget and ensure your wedding day goes off without a hitch.
