Real Scottsdale Wedding: Kweilin & Wynston

Wynston knows I hate surprises and had told me weeks before that he was planning on proposing. We even went to look at engagement rings, but I thought he was just being silly. I later found out that he went back to the jewelry store the same day to buy my ring.

He proposed on Christmas Eve 2008, twenty three days after he bought my ring and after he had my dad’s blessing. We were in the kitchen having a conversation and I turned around for a quick minute and when I turned back around he was on his knee and had ring box in his hand.

When I met with Tamara from Petal Pusher I told her that my theme was spring in the desert. I’m not a fan of roses and didn’t want them at all in my wedding and asked her to create something that was unusual.

Tamara did a great job capturing my vision by using succulents, ranunculus and craspedia billy balls. For me the best part of my wedding were the flowers.

My favorite detail was the lacy porcelain wedding ring plate I had made for our ring bearer.

The most memorable moment was when my mom explained the reason why my character was a bunny on our wedding cake. She told the story about how when I was a little girl that I climbed on her lap and asked if she would call me bunny.

Her message to Wynston that day was to make sure that you take care of our “bunny”.
