Real Wedding: Falon & Clay

Clay and I met while we were in high school. After being friends for four years, we both went our separate ways. Several years later Clay contacted me again, and we decided to meet. After a few short summer months of baseball games, dinners, and getting to know one another again, we were officially dating. The rest is history…

Describe the proposal.

The proposal…Well, it started out as a regular Friday evening. We were attending a Rotary Cocktail Holiday function with our family and friends. We danced the night away to the band, Liquid Pleasure. After wards, we jumped in Clay’s car to leave and I saw a small white box in the seat.

“What is this,” I asked. “Oh, nothing,” he replied. By the look on his face, I knew it wasn’t “nothing.” Once it hit me that he could possibly be proposing and that box was a ring box, I jumped out of the car. I turned around and Clay was down on one knee, in the parking lot, and asked me to spend the rest of his life with him and marry him. I cried…and cried…and cried some more (happy tears of course). After several minutes of trying to realize if this was really happening, I said, “Of course I will.” We spent the rest of the night celebrating with friends and family. It was perfect!

When I started looking for my dress I looked, and looked and….looked. I knew exactly what I wanted and I waited until I found exactly what I wanted and a wonderful designer (Birnbaum & Bullock) that would help make my dream dress a reality!

Our favorite detail of the day was all of the little things that made it ours. Our table names of our favorite places we have traveled. Our favors of Tupelo Honey…one of our favorite Asheville restaurants and we have a love for Van Morrison as well. Everything was amazing and it would be impossible to pick one detail out of all of the amazing and wonderful ways that the perfect day came together for us.

There were several things that made this day memorable…waking up the morning of our wedding day and knowing what the day had in store for us, seeing one another for the first time, being with our family and friends and leaving our celebration together as man and wife.
