Describe the proposal.
It all started with a six-foot box wrapped in my favorite Christmas paper. On Christmas morning Brad and I went over to my parents house to open all our presents. That six-foot box sat by the tree until the very end. I am not one for surprises so when I finally was able to get my hands on that box I was overly excited. Too excited to notice that everyone had stopped what they were doing and were now watching me.
Inside that big six-foot box was several wrapped boxes. Each one hiding a random items. By the time the last box was opened I had a screwdriver, two golf balls, a post pounder, several random boxes and a mountain of wrapping paper. I turned to Brad to ask what that was all about only to see Brad down on his knee holding a ring. Needles to say I said “yes!”
While we are not Quakers, we held our wedding ceremony as an edited version of a Quaker Friends Meeting, or Quaker ceremony. After we said our promises to each other, we gave our guests an opportunity to say something nice before we exchange rings. Heartfelt toasts or excerpts from texts are examples of what our family had prepared for the ceremony.
I had tried on a handful of dresses before finding “the one.” I finally decided I wanted a short dress. After online searches and flipping through magazines I had pretty much given up!
Then one day while I was out window shopping I wandered into a random clothing boutique. I was browsing through the dresses when a white mini dress caught my eye. I tried it on and a few others. I called my mom to come help me decide. In the end I walked out with my perfect dress.
