The cost of a traditional white wedding is continuing to rise in the UK, despite the fact that disposable income levels are falling disproportionately in comparison. This is causing high street brands and wedding suppliers to seek out innovative ways of cutting costs for brides and grooms nationwide, with H&M’s unveiling of a new, £59.99 wedding dress providing a relevant case in point. The rising cost or organizing a traditional wedding also makes it difficult for couples to take care of the smaller details, however, especially those that relate to style and clothing.

Creating a Unified Sense of Fashion and Style

While brides in particular may be well versed in the art of bringing the individual elements of a single wedding together harmoniously, one their biggest challenges is creating a unified sense of style between themselves and their groom. After all, a crisp white dress has little in common with a stylish, dark grey suit, so unifying the two can be extremely difficult unless you have a core understanding of contemporary or traditional fashion. In fact, the key to achieving this goal lies in appreciating not what you see, but more the use of materials, fabrics and the heritage of the garments in question.

There are numerous different styles of wedding dress, for example, from vintage and traditional to short, modern garments that are popular among younger brides. The dress that you select should have a big impact on your grooms choice of suit, and although it is bad luck for them to see your outfit before the big day you can at least guide them towards making a sensible decision. By selecting a suit in a similar or corresponding genre to your dress, you can lay the foundations for establishing a unified sense of style.

Paying Attention to the Smaller Details

While the dress and jewellery that you choose to wear as a bride should always set the tone in terms of style and visual aesthetic, you should try not to lose sight of the smaller details of your grooms outfit. From the cufflinks that they wear to the shoes that adorn their feet, it is important to give these seemingly small and insignificant details the attention that they demand. The latter is particularly important, as there are a wide range of shoe-makers and brands on the market that each boast various styles and their own unique heritage. Take Crockett and Jones, for example, who have been developing high quality leather shoes for more than a century and remain a particular favorite in the UK.
